The West and the Ruthless, is an award winning feature film and directorial debut by Nick + Lexie (Nick Trivundza and Lexie Trivundza). The film is a Revisionist Western and produced in association with Old Tucson Studios (Tombstone, The Quick and the Dead, Rio Bravo, 3:10 To Yuma, and The Magnificent 7).
The film stars (in alphabetical order) Danny Brown, Dan Fowlks, Rebecca Gomberg, Paul Haapaniemi, Alexander Harris, Benedict Mazurek, Will Roberts, Zoe Sloane, with Matt Boone and Katelyn Ann Clark.
The film premiered at AIFF on April 21, 2017 and was released on Nov. 7, 2017 by 4 Digital and Sony Pictures in North America with additional releases in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in 2018.
A World Wide Release followed in May 2019 and a UK release on June 7, 2019.
The West and the Ruthless has been praised for its performances and cinematography as well as its non-linear structure with comparisons to Doug Liman’s film "Go" and the works of Quentin Tarantino.
SYNOPSIS
In the dusty streets of Crow's Landing outlaws, wealthy plantation owners, runaway slaves, a half Cherokee girl, and a woman days away from giving birth all end up in a bloody shoot-out running for their lives.
